Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili said on Thursday that Syria is now regarded as the frontline of the Muslim worldˈs struggle with the Zionist regime and the Islamic Ummah under no circumstances let the country be invaded by the Zionists.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Jalili made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Syrian Grand Mufti, Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun in Tehran.

The Zionist regime will regret if it attacks Syria like when it suffered humiliating defeats in 33 and 22 days wars in Lebanon, he said.

Highlighting the significant role of clerics in thwarting plots of the enemies, he said the enemy tries to put more pressure on the Islamic resistance movement in a bid to prevent formation and strengthening of new Islamic civilization, Jalili said.

Iranˈs support for Syria and resistance is among the countryˈs principled policies, he said.

The Syrian Grand Mufti, for his part, said the recent air raids of the Zionist regime on Syria revealed the enemiesˈ role in Syrian developments.

Lauding Iranˈs constructive and leading role in the Muslim world, he urged all Muslims to exercise vigilance and thwart conspiracies of the enemies.
